James “Jim” Evans  Clarke

Thayer – James “Jim” Evans Clarke, 49, of Thayer, IL, passed away Friday May 31, 2019 at St. John’s Hospital Springfield, IL.

Jim was born January 24, 1970 in Springfield, IL, a son to Ralph “Mick” C. and Dorothy Mae (Evans) Clarke. He was a 1989 graduate of Virden High School and a lifelong member of Thayer United Methodist Church Thayer, IL. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, water skiing and cooking for family and friends.

Jim is survived by his mother, Dorothy Mae Clarke of Thayer, daughters, Haley and Mae Clarke of Greensburg, IN, sister, Chris (Mark) Heckman of Batesville, IN, niece, Meredith (Jefferson) Stewart, nephew, Clarke Taylor (Amber) Heckman and great niece, Eleanor Mae Stewart. Preceding in death was his father, Ralph “Mick” C. Clarke.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. To Noon Wednesday June 5, 2019 at Thayer United Methodist Church Thayer, IL, with funeral services at Noon at the church. Rev. Charles Kurfman officiating. Burial will be in the Evans Family Cemetery, Thayer, IL. Pallbearers: Tom Evans, Tim Evans, Brad Evans, Scott Evans, Clayton Gass and Clarke Heckman.     I am very sorry to hear about the loss of Jim. What a wonderful son you and Mick raised. There wasn’t a time i would see him that he would always take time to ask how i was and about my kids. I am so glad i got to see and talk to him at the Easter Egg Hunt in Thayer when i was home.

    Cherish the memories as i know he loved you all dearly.
