Frank J. Bertinetti

Raymond – Frank J. Bertinetti, 94, of Raymond, IL, formerly of Nokomis, IL, passed away Sunday October 20, 2019 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno, IL.

Frank was born February 11, 1925 in Jeiseyville, IL, a son of Dominic and Mary (Cambruzzi) Bertinetti. He was a WWII Navy Bomber Escort pilot stationed on the aircraft carrier USS Franklin during WWII. Frank married Norma Jean “Tootsie” Stivers in 1952 in Nokomis, Il.  She passed away in 1963; he later married Joan Finnefrock in 1973 in Raymond, IL., and she passed away in 1984. Frank worked as a fork lift operator prior to his retirement from Caterpillar Tractor Inc. He worked as a Funeral Director’s Assistant for Hough Funeral Home in Raymond, IL and in his later years worked for Calvert & Ferry Funeral Homes in Auburn, Girard, and Virden, IL .He was a member of St. Pat’s Church in Girard, IL, the Auburn, IL Knights of Columbus, Masonic Lodge of Morrisonville, IL, the  Scottish Rite, Blue Lodge, and the Answar Shrine Temple in Springfield, IL, American Legion Post # 94 in Nokomis, IL, 40 & 8, Fraternal Order of Police, Springfield, IL, and the Illinois Sheriff’s Association.

Frank is survived by his niece, Rebecca DiClemente, nephews, James (Debra) Bertinetti and Dominic Bertinetti III, sister-in-law, Doris Bertinetti, all of Tinley Park, IL, special friend Leona Hacker of Girard, IL, several great nieces and great nephews and cousins. Preceding in death were his parents, wives Norma Jean “Tootsie” Bertinetti and Joan Bertinetti, and a brother, Dominic “Buck” Bertinetti, Jr.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday October 24, 2019 at St. Pat’s Church, Girard, IL, with a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Father James Palakudy officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:45 p.m. Thursday October 24, 2019 at Oak Hill Cemetery Taylorville, IL. Memorials may be made to Donor’s Choice.
