Virden – Michael E. Cain, 54 of Virden, IL, passed away Tuesday January 8, 2019 at Sharon Health Care Willow South in Peoria, IL.

Mike was born November 30, 1964 in Springfield, IL, a son of Zeldon and Evelyn (Seifert) Cain. He graduated from Virden High School in 1982 and farmed with his father  and his sons on the family farm for many years. Mike was a member of the Macoupin County Farm Bureau and Grace Southern Baptist Church in Virden, IL.

Mike is survived by his mother, Evelyn (Ronald Carney) Cain of Virden, IL, sons, Landon E. (Samantha) Cain of Divernon, IL and Jonathan W. Cain of Auburn, IL, 1 granddaughter, Staley Cain of Divernon, IL, sisters, Christine (George) VanWinkle of Springfield, IL, Beth (Bruce) Garner of Springfield, IL and Barb (Mike Haacke) Whitlow of Chatham, IL, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding in death was his father, Zeldon Cain.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Noon Friday, January 11, 2019 at Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home Virden, IL. Rev. Jimmy Hammond officiating. Family has requested that the service at the cemetery be strictly private, family only.  Pallbearers: Bruce Garner, Mike Haacke, George VanWinkle, Greg Whitlow, Wil Lunt and Jeff Mortimer.
