Carlinville – Betty L. Smith 85 of Carlinville, IL, formerly of Virden, IL passed away Sunday June 24, 2018 at Heritage Manor Carlinville, IL. Surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born November 18, 1932 in Carlinville, IL, a daughter of Gilbert O. and Eva E. (Bivin) Morehead. She graduated from Girard High School in 1950 and was a member of the First Christian Church in Virden, IL. Betty owned and operated Pampered Poodle for over 27 years retiring in 1998.

Betty is survived by her husband, John W. Smith of Carlinville, IL, a daughter Brenda M. (companion: David Gatschenburger) Smith of Mountain Grove, MO, and a son Bradley E. (Sandy) Smith of Carlinville, IL, 4 grandchildren, Robert and Aaron Smith and Gregory and Lindsey Butler, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceding in death was her parents and a brother, Marvin Morehead.

Private visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 30, 2018 at Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home Virden, IL, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Rev. John Huxtable officiating. Burial will be in Virden Cemetery. Springfield – Deborah A. Dolbeare, 77, of Springfield, IL, formerly of Chatham, IL passed away Saturday June 16, 2018 at Heritage Manor in Springfield, IL, surrounded by her loved ones.

Deborah was born May 30,1941 in Macomb, IL, a daughter of Garland and Betty (Easton) Rigg. She married Benjamin L. Dolbeare June 11, 1961 in Springfield, IL. Deborah was the former President of Lincolnland Faculty Wife’s Association and took great joy in spending time and being involved with her family.

Deborah is survived by her husband, Benjamin L. Dolbeare of Springfield, IL, daughters, Elizabeth A. (Steve) Hopkins of Athens, IL, and Amy R. Dolbeare of Colorado Springs, CO, a son, Kevin B. (Kristine) Dolbeare of Semmes, AL, and 5 grandchildren. Preceding in death were her parents.

Cremation Rites have been accorded by Calvert & Ferry funeral Home Virden, IL. There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday June 23, 2018 at Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home Virden, IL, with Memorial Services to follow at 4:00 p.m. Burial of Ashes will be at a later date. Wilma Jean Jorgensen

Thayer- Wilma Jean Jorgensen, 97, of Girard, IL formerly of Thayer, IL passed away at 7:50 A.M. Friday, June 15, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Village, Girard, IL surrounded by her loving family.

Wilma was born May 7, 1921 in Riverton, IL a daughter to William S. & Augusta (Warren) Cole.  She married Elmer William Jorgensen on July 1, 1940 in Bowling Green, MO.

Wilma was a member of Thayer United Methodist Church in Thayer, IL where she was active with the Church Sunday School. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Girl Scout Brownie leader, an Election Judge and one of her favorite pastimes was taking tickets at the Illinois State Fair.

Surviving Wilma are her sons, Robert E. (Hazel) Jorgensen of Decatur, IL, Alan L. “AJ” (Michelle) Jorgensen of Virden, IL; daughter, Sandra J. (Bob) Grooms Thayer, IL; sister, Edna Davis of Kincaid, IL; 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elmer William Jorgensen; daughter, Gloria F. Tapp, brothers, George, Jack and Donald Cole and sisters, Anna Mae Burnett, Vallie Coy, Nellie Shellhammer, Barbara Coleman and Marilyn Cole.

Visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 Noon, Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home in Virden, IL with the funeral service starting immediately following the visitation at 12:00 noon with Chaplain Terry Link officiating. Betty J. Heyworth

Virden-Betty Jane Heyworth, 95, of Virden, IL passed away Tuesday January 23, 2018 at Sunrise Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Virden.

Betty was born July 16, 1922 in Virden, IL the daughter of John and Rebecca Scott Ewbank. She was a 1940 graduate of Virden High School. Betty loved playing baseball and was shortstop for the Virden Women’s Baseball team. During WWII, she worked at the Illiopolis Ordnance Plant. Later in life, she worked part-time with her good friend, Ruth Rishel at Smith’s Dress Shop.

Betty married Edward Heyworth August 1, 1946 in Carlinville, IL. She was a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church in Virden. She was a volunteer at the Virden Public Library and was a former board member of the Grand Prairie of the West Library in Virden.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Kathleen A. (Kathy Herrick) of Springfield and her son, Marshall Scott (Angela) Heyworth of Madison, WI. She has three grandchildren, Alexander of Milwaukee, Nikolas and Annika of Madison. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Edward Heyworth, a sister, Lydia Ewbank and a brother, Jack Ewbank.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home, Virden, IL. There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday June 16, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church in Virden, with a Celebration of Life Service at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial of ashes will be in the Virden Cemetery.  Carlinville- Mary Ann Adamski, 82, of Carlinville, IL passed away at 3:40 pm, Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL surrounded by her children.

Mary Ann was born January 16, 1936 in Pontiac, Michigan, a daughter to Jacob H. and Mary E. (Shroyer) Bock.  Mary Ann married Frederick Adamski on June 24, 1985.

Mary Ann was a member of the Carlinville Elks Club and worked as a paralegal for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Springfield.  Mary Ann loved to spend time reading, working cross word puzzles, enjoyed sitting in her sun room and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren and her family.

Surviving Mary Ann are her sons; Todd Wright of Wills Point, TX, David (Shannon) Wright of Gillespie, IL; daughter, Lisa (Tom) Mancini of Matthews, NC; step-son, Kevin (Lee) Ralph of Decatur, IL; step-daughter, Tracy Lynn of Springfield, IL; sister, Jody (George) Fielding of Bloomington IN; grandchildren, Jeremy Mancini, Noah Wright, Colton Flournoy, Macie Wright, Isabel Wright, Alexander Wright; step-grandchildren, Michael (Tia) Carter, Natalie (Michael) McKee, Ryan (Jessica) Ralph and step-great grandchild, John Meadows.  Preceding Mary Ann in death were her parents, husband, Frederick Adamski, son, Jeffrey Wright and brother, Martin Bock.

There will be no visitation, cremation rites accorded by the Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home in Virden, IL.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Girard Cemetery, Girard, IL with the Rev.
